Our Faculty

Each class at the Hitchcock Weekday School is staffed by a Lead Teacher as well as an Assistant Teacher. The faculty is comprised of seasoned early childhood educators. All Lead teachers have attained Masters Credentials in either Early Childhood Education or related fields and meet state requirements. All staff members are required to complete thirty hours of continuing education every two years, including First Aid and CPR training.

The student-teacher ratio is 7:1 for 5-day a week programs. There is a 6:1 ratio in our 3-day three’s program.

The teachers and the Directors are readily available to parents to discuss any concerns or issues they may have during the school year. There are two formal parent-teacher conferences annually.

Heather Miller - Director of Programs

Heather Miller has been involved in early childhood education since 1984 and joined Hitchcock School June 2009. Heather has her bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and is a certified Special Education Teacher (PK-12 grade) and English as a Second Language Teacher (PK-12 grade). She has taught in early childhood classrooms both at private and public schools. Heather has also conducted training workshops at local and state conferences.

Susan Grant - Director of Administration

Sue Grant joined the Hitchcock family in 1996, bringing with her 10+ years of administrative experience in the insurance industry. In addition to handling all the administrative duties at the Hitchcock School, Sue also oversees the school’s Summer Camp Program. Sue maintains her CPR Certification, as well as her MAT Certification.

Mona Kothari / Michelle Bates – Four’s Teachers

Mona Kothari and Michelle Bates are team teaching one of the Four’s classes. Mrs. Kothari has a Masters in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education. Both teachers share a love of books and use it as a springboard for other learning activities.

Kristin Chase / Ann Zezze – Four’s Teachers

Kristin Chase, Lead Teacher, has a Masters in Literacy and currently holds a New York State Teacher Certification along with 18 years of teaching experience. Ann Zezze, Assistant Teacher, has 13 years of experience working in early childhood education. Ms. Chase and Mrs. Zezze particularly enjoy celebrating each child’s individuality as demonstrated through their handwriting, storytelling, artwork, as well as play.

Maureen Foran / Helen O’Shea – Three’s Teachers (5 days a week)

Maureen Foran, Head Teacher, and Helen O’Shea, Assistant Teacher, work together teaching the 5 days a week Three’s class. Mrs. Foran has a Masters in Special Education, and Mrs. O’Shea has attained a Child Development Associate Credential (CDA). They have 25 years and 15 years respectively working in early childhood education. Jointly, Mrs. Foran and Mrs. O’Shea create a classroom environment that will enable each child to become social, empowered, and self-confident through play, encouraged through the use of language and positive reinforcement.

Liz Colucci / Linda Clemente – Three’s Teachers (3 days a week)

Liz Colucci, Lead Teacher and Assistant Teacher Linda Clemente, working together in our 3 day program. Three's class. Mrs. Colucci has a Master’s degree in Reading and Elementary Education along with 43 years of teaching experience. Mrs. Clemente has 9 years of experience in Early Childhood Education. Both teachers enjoy sharing their love of books through reading and classroom projects.

Ms Mila (Musical Munchkins)

Ludmila Barrett (Miss Mila) received a bachelor’s degree in music teaching from Kurenkeev Music College, a Master’s degree in music and classical guitar from Beshenalieva Institute of Arts in Russia, and another post-graduate degree in classical guitar performance from Kyrgyz State Conservatory.

She taught classical guitar at a children’s music school in Kyrgyzstan for ten years. After moving to the United States and having children, she became interested in early childhood music education and has been a teacher in the Musical Munchkins of Westchester program since 2001.

Miss Mila believes every child has talent in music and enjoys bringing that talent out in all of her students and watching them grow with music.

Gym On Wheels

Gym On Wheels age are appropriate classes for preschool and pre-k children. the classes incorporate stretching exercises, aerobics to music, gymnastic skills, games and lots of fun. It brings your children a high energy, motivating, self-esteem building and nurturing atmosphere by a certified instructor.
